Consumer Financial Protection Bureau
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) was created to help give consumers the information they need to better understand the terms of their agreements with financial institutions. The CFPB was created by Congress to better protect consumers through improved federal regulations and to ensure that consumers have the knowledge they need to make clear and sound financial decisions with less risk and less opportunity for unfair, deceptive or abusive practices.
